Hello,

Are applets and plasma supposed to be the standard for kde4? I'm working on
ksmserver for google SoC. I ran into ksplash today and realized it is
maintainerless and wondered if this is a candidate to completely be changed
to the new system. I might be able to work on this myself mid/last sept
after my SoC project is done. I'm still new here, so this seemed like a good
way to get on board with kde4 on a relatively simple app.

Thanks,
Will Entriken

ps please update the plasma roadmap

working on ksplash would be terrific. it probably could use some love for kde4
indeed. it has nothing to do with plasma, however. =)

if you do start working on ksplash, please drop a note to kde-core-devel so
people know there's someone working on things for coordination purposes...

some of the new SVG stuff happening in qt4 is really exciting and probably
quite applicable to ksplash; particularly since qtsvg even support animation.

what were your thoughts/plans on this?
